KP-302 ( Synonyms: Lucid-21-302 ; Lucid-MS ) is a small molecule inhibitor of protein-arginine deiminase enzymes in phase I development as oral treatment for multiple sclerosis. The compound acts by inhibiting the conversion of arginine into citrulline (deimination or citrullination). Enzymes involved in citrullination have been reported to alter myelin structure and to correlate with multiple sclerosis severity.
